Weather Forces Change in Men?s Basketball, Women?s Gymnastics Start Times

Inclement weather throughout the South and lower Midwest has delayed the Oklahoma men’s basketball team from leaving Norman, Okla., on Friday evening, forcing the Sooners to travel to Lincoln on Saturday morning for the previously scheduled 12:47 p.m. contest at the Devaney Center.

With the safety of the travel party being the highest priority, officials from both the University of Nebraska and the University of Oklahoma athletic departments, along with the Big 12 Conference, have agreed to move the game's start time to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30.

The game was previously scheduled to be seen on the Big 12 Network and ESPN FullCourt, however the time change will not allow for TV coverage on Saturday. The game will still be heard on the Husker Sports Radio Network within the state and on the Internet at Huskers.com.

Saturday’s game will see the NU and OU coaches participating in the Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers weekend to raise awareness for the need for a cure for cancer. Also at the game, the Red Cross will collect money for the Haiti Relief Fund.

The change in tipoff time for the basketball game has also affected the Nebraska women’s gymnastics meet against Missouri that was previously set for a 7:30 p.m. start on Saturday at the Devaney Center. The meet will now begin at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
