Huskers in the NFL Playoffs - Divisional Round

Lincoln - In the second round of the NFL Playoffs, six former Huskers played, with three players helping their teams advance to the next round.

 

Ralph Brown and the Arizona Cardinals' defense was no match for Carl Nicks and the New Orleans Saints' offense, as the Saints cruised to a 45-14 win at home. Nicks helped the Saints rush for 171 yards and two touchdowns, while also assisting in protection of Drew Brees, who threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively for the Saints, Scott Shanle tied for the team lead in total tackles with seven and also broke up a pass, while as a whole, the defense forced three turnovers.

 

In Indianapolis, Sam Koch and the Ravens' defense held the Colts' offense to just 20 points, but the Ravens' offense was only able to score three points. Koch booted five balls on the day for 238 yards, including a 59-yard punt. The Seward, Neb., native also pinned the Colts inside their own 20-yard line once and had no touchbacks.
