It's a late game Wednesday night when the Nebraska men's basketball team hosts powerful Kansas at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
The Huskers and Jayhawks don't tip off until 8 p.m., but NU Executive Associate Athletic Director Marc Boehm encourages NU fans to arrive by no later than 7:30 p.m. at the Devaney Center.
"We're asking our fans to leave earlier and arrive earlier because a bigger crowd means a lot more traffic, and we want them in their seats well in advance of our nationally televised game," Boehm said. "We'll have enough going on inside that they'll be glad they got there early."
The Big 12 Conference home opener will be Nebraska's largest crowd of the season. "A big, early arriving crowd can really help set the tone for our team," Boehm said. "It should be fun for everyone."
Knowing that snow and cold have prevented countless fans from seeing the Huskers in action, Boehm says now is the time to buy tickets and help Nebraska launch its Big 12 season at home.
"The Big 12 is the best conference in the country." Boehm said. "Every game has the potential to be competitive."
Fans can go online and buy tickets to the KU game, and future games, at Huskers.com.
