Huskers in the NFL - Week 13

Lincoln - A total of 22 former Huskers saw action during Week 13 of the 2009 NFL season.

 

Former Huskers Correll Buckhalter and Russ Hochstein each played a major role in Denver’s 44-13 win on the road in Kansas City. Buckhalter made the most of his 12 carries, as he ran for a game-high 113 yards, while also catching three balls for 15 yards. From his left guard position, Hochstein paved the way for the Broncos to run for 245 yards on 45 carries and two touchdowns, as the team averaged 5.4 yards per touch.

 

On Monday Night Football, former running backs Brandon Jackson and Ahman Green contributed to Green Bay’s 27-14 win at home over Baltimore, moving the Packers to 8-4. Green averaged 4.6 yards per carry, as he carried five times for 23 yards. Jackson, who filled in on third-down situations, caught two balls for 14 yards and also helped protect quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who threw for 263 yards and three touchdowns.

 

Josh Brown was the Rams only offense in a 17-9 loss to Chicago, as the former Husker connected on all three of his field goal attempts. Brown, who is now 14-18 on season, made kicks from 20, 48 and 50 yards. For the Bears, Zackary Bowman produced three total tackles and a forced fumble, while Josh Bullocks added a tackle on special teams.
