Huskers Take First at Capital City Collegiate Classic

Jackson, Miss. - Behind senior Cassandra Leuthold's 209 average, the top-ranked Nebraska bowling team placed first at the Capital City Collegiate Classic this weekend. The Huskers rolled a total pinfall of 12,516 on the three-day weekend, which is the first time NU has placed first in any tournament this season.

Two Huskers earned spots on the all-tournament team, including Leuthold, who rolled an average of 209 for first place in the tournament. Redshirt freshman Kristi Mickelson rolled an average of 200 for third place.

Nebraska will have a one-month break before continuing its spring season on Jan. 15-17 at Cabot, Ark.
