Pre-Big 12 Championship Game vs. Texas
On the quick recovery from his foot injury
“Yeah, we thought it was going to be around six to eight weeks. It ended up being a little over five weeks. It shows how the great the training staff is here, and they did a tremendous job getting me back as fast as possible.”
On if he thought he would run as effectively as earlier in the year coming off his injury
“I didn’t. I was a little hesitant at first. I didn’t feel it at all, but just knowing that it’s down there and the possibility of re-aggravating it made me a little hesitant on it at first. As I kept running, I got a lot more comfortable with it and started feeling better.”
On the final drive at Colorado
“It was a great drive. The offensive line did a tremendous job. They just opened up holes left and right. That makes my job easier when they’re focused in and just moving the pile and opening up holes.”
On if he felt like he was able to get into a rhythm on that last drive
“Yeah I guess. I haven’t got that many carries since high school, so it kind of felt like I was in high school, getting into a little rhythm. It felt good.”
On how much emphasis there is on keeping the Texas offense off the field
“Texas has a high-powered offense and a great defense as well, so it’s a big emphasis every week, but especially this week. You want to try to control the pace of the game and hopefully move the ball up and down the field, that way you can kind of keep their opportunities as low as possible.”
