Huskers in the NFL - Week 11

Lincoln - A total of 21 former Huskers saw action during Week 11 of the 2009 NFL season.

Former Huskers Demorrio Williams and Mike Brown led Kansas City’s defensive attack in an overtime upset-win over Pittsburgh, 27-24. Williams led the Chiefs in tackles with 10, including nine solo stops, while Brown was right behind him with nine total tackles. Brown also added a key 13-yard sack of Ben Roethlisberger late in the fourth quarter on third-and-7 that forced a Pittsburgh punt with 2:27 left in regulation, and the game tied at 24-24.

Zackary Bowman continued to play at a high caliber from his cornerback position for the Bears’ defense, as the former Husker intercepted a Donovan McNabb pass in the second quarter on Sunday Night Football. Even with a strong defensive effort, the Bears fell at home to the Eagles, 20-24. The pick was Bowman’s fourth of the season and marked the third straight game he has recorded an interception. In just his second year in the league, Bowman now has five career interceptions.

After starting the year with six straight losses, the Tennessee Titans have now won four straight following a win over the Houston Texans, 20-17, on Monday Night Football. Former Husker Kyle Vanden Bosch had two tackles for the Titans’ defense and added a fourth-quarter sack of the Texans’ Matt Schaub for a five-yard loss.
