Featured Husker of the Week: Ryann McGough

Ryann McGough is a junior on the Nebraska rifle team this season. Coming off an honorable mention All-American season in smallbore, McGough has been impressive this year for NU in both disciplines. She holds a smallbore average of 570 and air rifle average of 583.17. A psychology major, McGough has earned a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll every semester of her career, three times with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Let's get to know a little more about Ryann.

When did you first get interested in rifle and who got you started?
"My dad got me a BB gun when I was 3. Things just progressed after that."

What is your favorite rifle memory growing up?
"Probably shooting at playing cards when we were young and beating the boys!"

Favorite discipline, smallbore or air rifle?
"Smallbore."

Interests besides rifle?
"Rock climbing, backpacking, art and mountain biking."

Any superstitions or routines before shooting?
"Not before, but I have to wear my bandana under my visor."

Favorite meal?
"Steak, potatoes, green beans and gummy worms for desert."

Favorite TV show?
"Lie to Me."

Favorite movie?
"The Italian Job."

Favorite musical artists?
"Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Cake...currently."

Favorite restaraunt?
"Cafe Vino in Fort Collins, Colo."

Thing I miss most about my hometown?
"Being 15 minutes from outdoor climbing and mountains."
