On last year’s loss at Oklahoma
“We made a lot of mistakes and they made the most of them. We definitely want to limit those and eliminate them, if at all possible. Last year’s game was last year’s game. We have a different team in a sense, not necessarily different schemes, but different than that situation. Hopefully we don’t put ourselves in a hole.”

On the Nebraska-Oklahoma rivalry
“It’s always considered a big game, as it has been in the past. I consider it a big game going against great talent at OU and a great challenge that we’ll see.”

On Baylor’s offensive game plan against NU’s defensive line
“They had a good focus on me. I don’t know if that was their intentions, but that’s what I kind of felt. I felt I had a lot of double teams, especially in the passing game. They chose to cut and obviously Jared Crick made the most of it, which I’m very proud and happy, and it’s what I expected from him because he can play up to a great level, and obviously if you’re going to single block him, he’s going to make the most of it, which he did.”

On how Crick’s performance against Baylor changes the dynamic of the defense
“I think it only enhances it. You’ve got another great guy inside that you’ve got to deal with. You’ve got four great guys up front that you’ve got to deal with and great coverage in the back end with our linebackers and DBs, so all around we’re where we’re supposed to be, keep playing at a high level, keep earning these Blackshirts and move forward.”

On Crick’s performance throughout the season
“On a day-to-day basis, he comes in and works. He, more or less, is kind of the guy who wants to do the dirty work and not really be in the limelight, which I don’t blame him because I don’t like being in the limelight either. But if you play well, obviously you’re going to get the attention. That’s something obviously that we’ve talked about and he’s getting used to and something that he’s embracing. I just tell him, ?You’re a great player. You’re going to have to deal with this, especially after I leave this year. You’re going to keep getting better. You’re going to have great coaches. You’re going to keep evolving into a great player. Just learn to embrace it and move forward with it.”
