The Nebraska football team concluded a week of Baylor preparations with a two-hour practice in the Hawks Championship Center Thursday afternoon.
Head Coach Bo Pelini said the Huskers wrapped a good week with a solid effort.
"The competition was good," Pelini said. "I saw a lot of guys getting better. Once again, we got back to fundamentals and technique and stressed those things. We've got to put it on the field on Saturday. The effort's been there. Now we've got to execute."
Pelini said wide receiver Chris Brooks will not travel with the team to Waco, but other than that the team appears to be pretty healthy overall, including running back Roy Helu.
"He's better than he's been in a few weeks, so he's ready to go," Pelini said. In addition, Dontrayevous Robinson, Austin Jones and Lester Ward practiced well this week, Pelini said, and could factor into the mix.
As for who will take the first snap at quarterback on Saturday, Pelini is not yet ready to say.
"We'll find out on Saturday," Pelini said. "We've got to evaluate the tape and...we'll see how it goes."
The Huskers and Bears kickoff at 11:30 a.m. Television coverage will be provided by Versus.
