On how it felt to come back against Missouri in the fourth quarter
“It was a great win in the fourth quarter. It was probably as emotional a feeling I’ve had with football, just in general, the type of game it was, how grateful we were as an offense that our defense played that well, and just how proud I was of everyone on offense just for sticking through it and coming through like that.”
On losing running back Rex Burkhead to injury
“It’ll be a blow. But we’ve got other guys that we have confidence in that I’m pretty confident that they’ll make the best of their opportunity. He’s just a really good all-around football player. He does a lot of things very well. We’ll find someone to get in there and do those same things.”
On if Roy Helu can carry the load
“I’ve said Roy is a stud before. I think Roy can take whatever we can put on him, honestly. But it’s always nice to have a second guy that you can throw in there and give him a blow.”
On the support from the offensive coaches when the offense wasn’t executing
“It’s great that they have our backs, but we have their backs too, no matter what plays they call, we’ve got to execute them. That’s what it boils down to really. No matter what’s called, we’ve got to make it work. The Missouri defense did a good job on a rainy day playing in the elements. We still could have dealt with it a little better just as a unit.”
On if they should have run more against Missouri
“I don’t know. Maybe. It was what it was. It’s done with. We got a win. I think we’re all pretty happy with the win. We’ll move on and get better from it.”
