Paar Advances in Qualifying Bracket

Tulsa, Okla.---The Nebraska men’s tennis team opened play on Monday at the D’Novo ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.  Three Huskers participated in the 128-player qualifying singles bracket which runs through Wednesday, Oct. 7. Calin Paar (Neb.) was the lone Husker to win and advance to the second round on the day.


Paar defeated Vicente Joli (Boise State) 6-4, 6-2, in the first round. Senior David Bendheim (Neb.) was defeated by Evan King (Michigan) 7-5, 6-4, while sophomore Christopher Aumueller (Neb.) was taken down by Vicente Joli (Boise State) 6-4, 7-5. 


Paar will take on either Andrew Crone (North Carolina) or Jaak Poldma (Southern California) in the second round on Wednesday. Paar and Bendheim will also play in the 64-team doubles team qualifying bracket on Wednesday.

Dusan Medan (Marquette) def. Christopher Aumueller (Neb.) 6-4, 7-5

Evan King (Michigan) def. David Bendheim (Neb.) 7-5, 6-4

Calin Paar (Neb.) def. Vicente Joli (Boise State) 6-4, 6-2
