Sometimes fans lose track of the exploits of some of our former Huskers, but I’ve been very fortunate through the years to stay in touch with many former players. Two of my all-time favorites have continued their basketball careers internationally.
Chelsea Aubry was a true joy to be around during her four-year career at Nebraska. She continues to play for her native country and is in Cuiaba, Brazil this week with Team Canada preparing for the FIBA Americas Championship, which begins Wednesday, Sept. 23. She tied for team-high scoring honors with nine points in an exhibition loss to Brazil on Sunday.
At the end of the month, she’ll be heading ?down under’ to play for the Bendigo Spirit, a professional team in the WNBL, the premier women’s league in Australia.
Danielle Page will be leaving for St. Petersberg, Russia later this week. She'll be spending her second season playing the women's Euroleague. Last season she averaged 14.2 points in six games for Dunav Econt Rouuse in Bulgaria.
