Virginia Tops BYU at Ameritas Players Challenge
Lauren Dickson and Simone Asque combined for 28 kills, leading Virginia to a 3-1 victory (25-15, 29-27, 18-25, 25-17) over BYU Saturday afternoon at the NU Coliseum. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

Dickson led the Cavaliers (5-4) with 16 kills on .273 hitting and contributed 13 kills and three solo blocks, while Asque added 12 kills and 13 digs to give UVA two players with double-doubles.  Virginia held held BYU to just .127 hitting on the day and out-blocked the Cougars 15.5-7, as setter Rachel Gray totaled six blocks to pace the Cavaliers.  Virginia held BYU to under .100 hitting in each of the three sets it won, including a .000 in the finale, as libero AJ Cushman totaled a match-high 26 digs

Kayla Walker led BYU (4-6) with 17 kills, while Christina Meason chipped in 12 kills in a losing effort, as the Cougars went 0-3 in tournament action.

The four-day event wraps up tomorrow, as No. 5 Nebraska hosts No. 8 UCLA at a sold out Bob Devaney Sports Center, as over 13,000 tickets have been sold. Fans that don’t have tickets can listen on the Husker Sports Network or watch the match live on NET.
