Junior, Wide Receiver
On the offense’s play on Saturday
“We played really well. Coach (Shawn) Watson said we played really well, but of course we have a lot to improve on. They felt like this week is a big work week for us, just to get better as a team.”
On improving the offense’s tempo
“Just in practice. I know Roy (Helu) emphasized yesterday getting in and out of the huddle. Just in practice working on the tempo is how we’re going to do it in a game, because of course you practice like you play.”
On some dropped passes by the wide receivers on Saturday
“Of course we all take it personal. When you drop a ball, you’ve got to do push-ups in practice, so whoever dropped the ball had to do their push-ups. We just want to focus on not having any dropped passes or any turnovers in a game.”
On patience in waiting for a big play
“Just knowing that any time on any play that the ball could possibly be coming to me and I could make a play on the ball. It frustrates me a little bit, but my receiving corps is like family, so I was just happy for Curenski (Gilleylen) and Meno (Menelik Holt). It was just like I scored when they scored.”
On not overlooking Arkansas State
“They’re a great team, great defense. (They’re) definitely going to be a challenge for our offense this week. I can’t wait to see who wins this challenge. I know their secondary is very athletic, probably some of the best corners I’ve seen so far.”
On spreading around the ball to multiple wide receivers
“I said it earlier in fall camp, we have a receiving corps where you never know who is going to have a breakout game that week. Curenski (Gilleylen), Meno (Menelik Holt), me, Chris (Brooks), Antonio (Bell), we have guys that make plays everywhere. It’s all on who’s getting the ball that game.”
