Huskers.com Selling Osborne?s New Book ?Beyond the Final Score?

Last January, a publisher approached Tom Osborne about writing one more book, and the more Nebraska's athletic director thought about it, the more he decided he had something he wanted to say.

The result is a 256-page book, Tom Osborne: Beyond the Final Score, where Osborne talks about the different leadership hats he's worn over the past half century.

Now available on Huskers.com, the book covers all aspects of Osborne's career - from educator to football coach, from the halls of Congress to athletic director, and, of course, his favorite roles as family man and mentor.

Osborne says it's "a different kind of book" that covers his views on politics, spirituality and leadership.  

Osborne also shows a keen sense of humor when he writes about fishing, flying and football.

"I hope I didn't dwell on anything too long to bore people," he said.

Nebraska's athletic director is donating proceeds from the book to two important causes - the construction of the athletic department's new Student Life Center and TeamMates, an organization of 4,000 mentors that he co-founded with his wife, Nancy.
