So What Husker Loves Pressure the Most? Turner Says: 'Probably Me'

Barry Turner has been waiting almost a year to start his senior season over again.

Last fall, you may recall, Turner suffered a leg injury against San Jose State that required surgery and put him on the sidelines for the rest of the year.

Rehabilitation is complete, and Turner is raring to go as a bookend defensive end with Pierre Allen.

"Our defense should be good . . . real good, especially up front," Turner said Wednesday. "We have an unbelievable amount of talent."

He mentioned Zac Lee and Niles Paul on offense and Ndamukong Suh and Allen on defense as the most talented players on the team.

Asked what player enjoys pressure the most, Turner thought a bit, then answered: "Probably me. I love pressure."

He also loves music, but even though his hometown of Nashville is known as the Music City, don't expect any country on Turner's i-Pod.

A standout on three straight Tennessee state championship basketball teams at Brentwood High School, it's no surprise what sport Turner could see himself playing at Nebraska besides football.

A USA Today Second-Team prep All-American in football and a First-Team Freshman All-American at Nebraska, Turner is poised to make his last Husker season a memorable one.

"The defense is ready to play. We're together," he said. "The whole team is ready to play. We're all together."

Turner volunteers more of his personal thoughts on today's Quick Hits.
