After rain swept through the Lincoln area for the better part of the day on Wednesday, the Nebraska football team was forced to practice inside the Hawks Championship Center as preparations continued for the Sept. 5 matchup against the Florida Atlantic Owls.
The Cornhuskers practiced for two and a half hours in helmets and shoulder pads after practicing in full pads for more than a full week. Head coach Bo Pelini wants to see his team's consistency level pick up with less than two weeks before kickoff.
"We didn't practice like the way I want to see us practice," Pelini said. "It's too inconsistent and that's what we were last year."
As kickoff for the season opener approaches, Pelini made it known that no spots have been secured for the Huskers season opener.
"Nobody has won anything around here, trust me on that," Pelini said.
The Huskers will return to the practice field on Thursday afternoon with practice scheduled to begin at 3:45 p.m. Check back to Huskers.com for more updates on the Nebraska football team.
Game time for the Huskers season opener against the Owls is set for 6 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
