The University of Nebraska Athletic Department utilizes a priority point system. Priority points are acquired by making a contribution to Nebraska Athletics. Priority points are used when allocating tickets and seat locations for each of Nebraska's away games, postseason events, and single game ticket purchases. Priority points also play a role in the allocation and improvement of season tickets.

Priority points are accumulated as follows:

  • Three points for every $100 of current annual athletic giving
  • One point for every $100 of lifetime (previous years) of athletic giving
  • N-Club members (varsity letter winners) receive a one-time assignment of 10 Priority Points

Here is an example of how you can accumulate Priority Points:

  • In 2012, Lil' Red makes his first contribution of $300 to Nebraska Athletics. As a result, Lil' Red receives a total of nine Priority Points in that year - three points for every $100 of current giving.

  • In 2013, Lil' Red decided to give $200 more for a total of $500 to Nebraska Athletics. He receives 18 Priority Points in 2013, receiving three points for each $100 contributed in the calendar year (15 points), plus three more points for giving $300 in 2012 (one point for every $100 of lifetime giving).

  • In 2014, Lil' Red was able to increase his donation to $1,000. His Priority Point total in 2014 equals 38 points. He received 30 points for his current giving (three points for each $100 given), plus eight points for his prior lifetime giving ($800 total gifted in 2012 and 2013).

  2014 30 ($1,000) + 8 ($800) = 38 ($1,800)

  • If Lil' Red would donate $500/year for three years, 2012, 2013, and 2014, his priority points in 2014 would be 25.

  • If Lil' Red would donate $500 in 2012, then $400 in 2013, and then $300 in 2014, his priority points in 2014 would be 18.

Priority points are reset and recalculated every year in January based upon the current drive year. The donations and priority points are cumulative, but giving to the non-current drive year is refigured at 1 point for every $100, while current drive year giving is three points for every $100.
