Nebraska Senior Center Jacob Hickman, the most game-tested veteran on the offense this fall, gives his views on Huskers.com Quick Hits, and one of them is no surprise for a starting center . . . his favorite Husker player of all time is Dave Rimington.
Rimington is the only player ever to win the Outland Trophy in consecutive years (1981 and 1982). He's also one of 13 Huskers to have his jersey retired, a College Football Hall-of-Fame inductee and the first Nebraska student-athlete in history to be inducted into the CoSIDA Academic All-America Hall of Fame.
Oh yes, Rimington, the president of the Boomer Esiason Foundation, also is the name tied the award which is presented annually to the nation's top center in college football.
No wonder Hickman says Rimington is "a legend" and "someone you look up to and model yourself after."
