Mike McNeill
Junior, Tight End

On the new wideouts
“They’ve done a good job so far. Guys have really stepped up. Brandon Kinnie has come in this summer and done a good job. I think people are worried since we lost two good receivers, but every school loses players and you have to replace them. We’ve got guys who are going to step up. The receivers have done well so far.”

On seeing himself as a key target
“I don’t know, that is what everyone says, we’ll see. We have to dial up plays. Whoever is open is open. Whether or not they try and throw me the ball more, I don’t know. Whoever is open is going to get the ball.”

On if he likes being a key target
?Yes, definitely. You always want to get the ball thrown to you. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t. We’ll see what happens.”

On Zac Lee’s arm
“He’s been very accurate. He’s done a really good job this summer. Obviously, he has a strong arm, but with just putting the ball in the right place, he’s done that very well this summer.”

On if the offensive unit is comfortable with Lee as the leader
“(It’s) real comfortable. We’ve been with him since the spring. This summer went pretty smooth. We’re just getting used to him instead of having Joe (Ganz) back there.”
