Nebraska senior golfer Brandon Crick upset the No. 2 seed in the first round of match play Wednseday at the U.S. Public Links Championship in Norman, Okla., to move on to the field of 32.
Crick, the 63rd seed, defeated Nick Geyer, of Albuquerque, N.M., 1 up and will face No. 34 Andrew Frame Thursday morning. Crick was down two at the turn in his match with Geyer, but tied it up on the 13th hole and won the 15th, before halving the final three holes with Geyer.
