Nebraska senior golfer Brandon Crick won two more matches on Thursday to advance to Friday's quarterfinals at the U.S. Public Links Championship in Norman, Okla.
Crick, the 63rd seed entering match play, started off the morning with a 2 and 1 victory over Andrew Frame. Crick never trailed, as he jumped out to a two-hole lead after five holes. Crick and Frame then halved the next 12 holes, good enough for Crick to win the match.
In his afternoon match-up with Mitch Krywulycz, from Australia, Crick was 1 up entering the 12th hole, but won the next three holes and halved 15, to capture a 4 and 3 victory.
Two matches were postponed Thursday evening because of inclement weather.
Crick is scheduled to take on 58th-seeded Eddie Olson at 7:30 a.m., Friday for a spot in the semifinals Friday afternoon.
