The 2009 Doc Sadler Basketball Camps got underway in full force as the first of eight camps over a four-week period started on Sunday, July 12, with the Overnight Camp. There is still time for your child to sign up to be a part of the fun while receiving quality instruction on the essential points of the game.
This is the third straight year Nebraska basketball coach Doc Sadler and his staff are presenting a large number of camps and clinics for children of all ages and skill sets. Five-year-olds through seniors in high school are encouraged to come to the camps where they can learn the fundamentals of playing basketball in an enjoyable setting.
Also included in the camp lineup are individual day camp, team camp, ballhandling and shooting clinics and a post player clinic. Also this season there will be a pair of camps that will give an opportunity for younger children to learn more about the game, including a new Mini-Husker Camp (grades 7 and below) and a Little Dribblers Camp (ages 5 to 8).
Spots remain open for all the camps and clinics, which will give children a chance to improve their game in a competitive setting. Kids will also learn more about technique and the fundamental principles of the game on an individual and team basis, and the specialty clinics will provide a more focused evaluation of player skills and areas to gain improvement.
