Former Husker pitcher Brian Duensing was recalled by the Minnesota Twins Thursday afternoon and will be in uniform when the Twins take on the Detroit Tigers in Minneapolis on Friday.
Duensing was on the Twins’ opening day roster and made one appearance before he was sent to Triple-A Rochester in mid-April. In that outing, he allowed two runs on two hits over three innings of work in a win over the Chicago White Sox on April 10. He has been a starter in Rochester, going 4-6 with a 4.66 ERA, fanning 44 and walking only 19 in 75 innings of work.
Duensing was a third-round draft pick of the Twins in 2005 after compiling a 17-2 record as a Husker from 2002 to 2005.
