Lincoln ? University of Nebraska Ticket Office officials announced Thursday that tickets for the Nebraska-UCLA volleyball match at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on Sunday, Sept. 13, will go on sale to the public on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 8 a.m.
Tickets for the NU-UCLA match range from $8 to $14 and can be purchased online at Huskers.com, by calling the NU Ticket Office at 800-8-BIGRED or by visiting the NU Ticket Office (located across from Memorial Stadium) between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday. UNL students can buy tickets for just $5 and have the option of sitting in special student seating in the end courts on the floor or in reserved seating in the upper C Level. For season ticket holders, the Devaney Center match against UCLA is included in the 2009 season ticket packages.
The match, which is the final day of the 2009 Ameritas Players Challenge, will feature a pair of teams that will likely begin the season in the top 10 in the AVCA preseason poll. UCLA finished with a 22-11 record and reached the NCAA Regional semifinals before finishing the year ranked eighth in the final AVCA/Bison poll. The Huskers return five starters, including All-Americans Sydney Anderson and Tara Mueller, from a team that went 31-3 and lost to Penn State in the national semifinals in Omaha.
The Huskers have sold out the Devaney Center in each of the past two years, breaking the NCAA regular-season single-match record with a crowd of 13,412 against LSU last September.
Fans who want to get a sneak peek at the 2009 Huskers can now also purchase tickets to the annual Red/White Scrimmage at the Nebraska Coliseum on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 7 p.m. Tickets, which are now on sale, are set at $10 (adults) and $8 (youth and seniors), while all UNL Students will be admitted free with their valid N-Card. All tickets for the Red/White Scrimmage are general admission.
The remainder of Nebraska’s single-match tickets will also go on sale on Aug. 5, at 8 a.m. and can be purchased on Huskers.com, in person at the Nebraska Ticket Office or over the phone at 800-8-BIGRED. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online, as it is the fastest way to process tickets for home matches.
