Nebraska’s non-conference clash against Virginia Tech on Sept. 19 has been selected for a regional telecast on ABC. The announcement was made on Thursday by ESPN and the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The game is set for a 2:30 p.m. CT (3:30 p.m. ET) kickoff from Lane Stadium in Blacksburg. In addition to the ABC coverage, the contest will be carried on ESPN2 in markets that receive a different regional contest on their ABC affiliates. The game marks the second straight season the two teams have met on ABC. Last fall, Virginia Tech defeated Nebraska 35-30 in Lincoln.

Virginia Tech is coming off a 10-4 finish and a second consecutive ACC crown. The Hokies capped the 2008 campaign with a FedEx Orange Bowl victory over Cincinnati. The 2009 meeting between the schools is the third all-time with the Nebraska capturing a win over Virginia Tech in the 1996 Orange Bowl.
The telecast of the Nebraska-Virginia Tech matchup is the third announced TV game for the Huskers in the 2009 season. Nebraska will take on Missouri on Thursday, Oct. 8 in a nationally televised contest on ESPN. The Huskers’ regular-season finale at Colorado will be televised to a national audience on ABC with kickoff also set for 2:30 p.m. Central.
