The event is designed for individuals throughout the area who want to learn leadership principles from three individuals who have experienced a high level of success in varying fields. Enroll now on-line.

Osborne is in his second year as Nebraska’s athletic director after a Hall of Fame coaching career at Nebraska. He also served three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, and carries a doctorate in educational psychology. Osborne served as a guest lecturer on leadership in UNL’s College of Business Administration and is the founder of the TeamMates mentoring program in the state of Nebraska.

Pelini is entering his second season as Nebraska’s head football coach. In his first year, Pelini guided Nebraska to nine victories, the most of any first-time Division I head coach in 2008. Pelini has achieved at every level in his coaching career, including being on a Super Bowl winning staff with the San Francisco 49ers and serving as the defensive coordinator for LSU’s 2007 national championship team.

Sokol is the chairman of the board of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company. Under Sokol’s leadership, the 17,000 employees of MidAmerican have grown the company into a leading global energy provider with seven million customers. Sokol is active in the community and charitable activities, and places a significant emphasis on mentoring students. In 2008, he authored a book titled Pleased But Not Satisfied.

Nebraska Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations Jeff Jamrog is coordinating the event. He said the event will be a unique chance to hear from three of the state’s most prominent leaders.

“This is a great opportunity for people in the state to experience the passion that these three highly successful leaders bring to their respective professions,” Jamrog said. “David Sokol is known throughout the business world as an outstanding leader of people, and obviously Coach Osborne and Coach Pelini’s leadership skills are well-documented in this state.”

Those interested in attending the event can attend either the morning session (8:30 a.m.-Noon) or the afternoon session (1-4:30 p.m.). Cost for the Leadership 101 event is $200 per person, or $150 if three or more individuals from the same business register. High school or college students can attend for $100.
