Lincoln - Selenia Iacchelli and Lauren Isenhower were among more than three dozen Husker graduates who went through commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 9. The duo representing the Nebraska women's soccer team was part of approximately 2,400 students who crossed the stage and received degrees at the Bob Devaney Sports Center this weekend.
A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Iacchelli has been a leader on and off the field for Nebraska over the past four years. She has made 66 starts for the Huskers, while appearing in 77 contests. She finished her career with 27 points on nine goals and nine assists, while also notching more than 160 shots. In the classroom, she was a three-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection and was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll eight times. She earned her bachelor's degree in nutritional science and dietetics.
Isenhower still has one season of eligibility left, and will play for the Huskers this fall while she attends graduate school at NU. The Lenexa, Kan., native has battled back from several knee injuries and will be a key component in replacing Iacchelli in the midfield. She has appeared in 48 games for the Huskers, while making 20 starts. She earned her bachelor's degree in international business.
Nebraska's 2009 class of May graduates combined for 24 All-America awards and one CoSIDA Academic All-America award during their careers as Huskers. Nebraska leads the nation across all teams, all sports and all divisions with 268 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans and features a Big 12-leading 93 percent graduation rate for student-athletes.
