Brechtel Named to All-Tournament Team

Sophomore Julie Brechtel was one of 13 players selected to the 2009 Big 12 Softball Championship all-tournament team that was announced following Sunday's championship game.

Brechtel was honored for her outstanding game in the Huskers' 10-5 loss to Texas on Saturday. Against the Longhorns, Brechtel finished 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. She also added a walk and a run scored, while the only out she recorded was a line out to second base.

The award was the second of the week for the Fullerton, Calif., native, as Brechtel earned first-team academic All-Big 12 honors on Friday.
