2009 NCAA Championships to Air on CBS

Lincoln- Nebraska women’s gymnastics fans are encouraged to tune in to watch the broadcast of the 2009 NCAA Gymnastics Championships Saturday, May 9 at 1 p.m. (CST) on CBS.

The Championships, which were held in Lincoln April 16-18, will be broadcast via tape delay on the national network.

Fans can relive the 2009 Championships where Georgia came away with its 10th team title on the shoulders of Head Coach Suzanne Yoculan and senior Courtney Kupets, who scored a?10.0 on vault and bars. In the individual finals, Kupets earned the bars and beam crowns, as well as tying for first on floor with LSU’s Ashleigh Clare-Kearney. Clare-Kearney also came away with the individual vault crown.

Kupets became just the second three-time NCAA All-Around champion with a 39.80 all-around score during the preliminary sessions of competition. Her four individual national titles in 2009 tied Kentucky's Jenny Hansen (1995) and Utah's Missy Marlowe (1992) for the most in an individual championships in NCAA history. Kupets, who is a 15-time All-American, entered the championships as a five-time national champion and concluded her career with an NCAA-record nine individual national titles.

Nebraska All-American Kylie Stone earned the second All-America accolades of her career, competing on bars and receiving a score of 9.85 in the preliminary competition.
