Fulmer Leads Huskers to Two Wins

Lincoln ? Sophomore Michaella Fulmer notched two goals to lead the Nebraska women’s soccer team to two wins over Minnesota (2-1) and North Dakota State (2-0) in Minneapolis, Minn., on Saturday. The Huskers improved to 7-1-3 in the spring season.

In a tight contest with the Golden Gophers, Fulmer used a Lauren Isenhower pass to find the back of the net with under a minute left to tie the game at one. In penalty kicks, goalkeeper Tara Macdonald made a crucial save to give Nebraska the win.

Fulmer, along with Alexa Cardona, scored first-half goals to propel NU past North Dakota State in the second contest of the day. Cardona found the back of the net after a Blair Slapper shot hit the crossbar, while Slapper also assisted on Fulmer’s goal.

Nebraska wraps up their spring season with its annual Alumni Game at 1 p.m. tomorrow. Fans will have a chance to see several Husker legends compete against the current team at the free event.
