Big Red Shamble Set for May 11

The Big Red Shamble, a fund-raising benefit established by the men's and women's golf booster clubs at the University of Nebraska, is set for May 11 at Firethorn Golf Club. The exciting fundraiser designed to benefit both of the Husker men's and women's golf teams will include a four-person shamble, lunch, prizes, dinner and more.

The action begins at Firethorn on Monday, May 11, with registration and a free lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The driving range will be open and the Nebraska golfers will be on hand to greet the players.

The golf begins with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., and the event format features a four-person shamble. All players will tee off with the best drive selected. After the drive, each team member plays their own ball out to the end of the hole.

The standard entry fee is $150 per player or $600 per four-player team and includes range, lunch, golf, cart, prizes, dinner and more.

The event is sponsored by the Nebraska Chip-N Club (women's golf) and Nebraska Fairway Club (men's golf). Donations to the event will qualify for a tax deduction as allowed by law.
