Houston, Texas - The Nebraska men's golf team is in eighth place at the Rice Intercollegiate with a score of 595 after two rounds of play at Westwood Golf Club. The Huskers followed their first round of 297 with a 298 in the second round and sit 20 strokes behind the leader, Houston.
Mike Coatman leads the Huskers with a 3-over-par 147. Coatman is tied for 17th place. Brandon Crick is tied for 24th with a 149. Andrew Wyatt sits in a tie for 51st place at 151. In the second round, Chris Bruening posted a 73, the best round of his senior season, to pull into a tie for 42nd at 152. Scott Willman is also tied for 42nd after a career-best second round of 75.
The final round will be played Tuesday morning, as the Huskers look to post one of their better team finishes of the 2008-09 season so far. NU's best finish in the fall season was a tie-for-seventh at the season-opening Fairway Club Invitational.
