Woo Named Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week

Irving, Texas ? Senior Tricia Woo was honored as Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. She was recognized for the second time this season and the fourth time in her career.

Woo was recognized as Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week after capturing the beam title with a career-high score of 9.95, as well as the floor crown with a career-best-tying 9.925, helping No. 12 Nebraska to a 196.175-196.00 win over No. 7 Oklahoma. The senior and three-time All-American on beam and floor, also recorded a season-high 9.85 on vault for runner-up honors. Woo is the No. 5 beam worker in the country.

In addition, Oklahoma’s Ashley Jackson was named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week. She won the all-around and vault crowns at No. 12 Nebraska with career-high scores of 39.375 and 9.925, respectively. The Big 12’s top-ranked all-around competitor, Jackson also posted a season-high 9.825 on beam and took second on bars (9.825). She is ranked No. 18 nationally in the all-around and 15th on vault and floor.

 

The Huskers face No. 1 Utah this Friday, Feb. 13. Competition is set to begin at 7 p.m. at the Devaney Center.
