T?trault, Daigle Among 26 Husker Graduates

Lincoln, Neb. ? Former Husker gymnasts Stephen T?trault and Eric Daigle were among 26 Nebraska student-athletes who received their diplomas during winter commencement exercises on Saturday, Dec. 20, at the BobDevaneySportsCenter.

Both T?trault and Daigle completed their eligibility with the Huskers in 2008 and were among 11 student-athletes from the state of Nebraska to graduate this spring. T?trault, a native of Lincoln, received his degree in mathematics, while Omaha native Daigle graduated with a degree in industrial technology education.

T?trault was a standout all-arounder for the Husker gymnastics team for four years. A three-time NCAA All-American, T?trault earned prestigious back-to-back CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. He was also named the 2008 Nebraska Male Student-Athlete of the Year for his tremendous academic efforts. Recently, T?trault was awarded the Dr. Prentice Gautt Big XII Postgraduate Scholarship and an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.

A two-year letterwinner for Nebraska, Daigle competed for the Huskers from 2006-2008, as he was added to Nebraska’s roster midway through the 2006 season. The Burke graduate competed as consistently on floor, vault and high bar throughout his career. Daigle was a 2007 and 2008 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Conference honoree and named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s honor roll five times.

Nebraska’s 2008 December class of graduates helped build on the Huskers’ great student-athlete tradition, which includes an NCAA-leading 268 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans across all sports. Nebraska continues to feature one of the highest graduation rates in the nation with a Big 12-leading exhausted eligibility graduation rate of 93 percent.
