Doubles Team Loses in Consolation Round

The Husker men's tennis doubles tandem of junior David Bendheim and sophomore Calin Paar finished the D'Novo Championship with a 3-2 record after falling to Ross Cunningham and Victor Tolik fo Tulsa, 9-7, on Friday in Tulsa, Okla.

After falling to Austin Krajicek and Conor Pollock of Texas A&M, 8-4 in the first round of the main doubles draw on Thursday, the duo saw their run end on Friday. Despite the loss,  Head coach Kerry McDermott said he was happy with their effort but wishes the end result would have been different.

"I was disappointed, not with the effort, but in losing," McDermott said. "Hopefully we use this tournament as a stepping stone and we continue to get better."

The Husker tennis team will continue its fall season at the ITA Central Regional Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., Oct. 16-20.
