Jones Eliminated at Midlands

Nebraska wrestler Vince Jones was eliminated in his first match Sunday in the consolation bracket at the 45th annual Midlands Championships in Evanston, Ill.

The No. 5 seed in the 184-pound bracket, Jones was defeated by technical fall by No. 4 Louis Caputo of Harvard, 15-0. Jones had won three straight matches in the consolation bracket after losing his first match at Midlands before his loss to Caputo.

Jones and the Huskers are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 2 as they travel to Greeley, Colo., to take on Northern Colorado at 8 p.m.
