Huskers finish 13th at Memphis Intercollegiate

Memphis - The Nebraska men's golf team concluded play with a 13th place finish out of 15 teams at the weather-shortened Memphis Intercollegiate. The Huskers finished with an overall team score of 611. Mississippi was the tournament champion, with a score of 572. Southern Mississippi was second at 580 and host Memphis finished third with a score of 583.

Junior Chris Bruening had his strongest outing of the season, finishing in a tie for 34th place with a score of 150 (+6). Mark Pillen was one stroke behind Bruening, which put him in a tie for 42nd place. Mike Coatman shot 152 to finish in a tie for 45th. Andrew Wyatt recorded a 158 to finish tied for 72nd and Trent Price rounded out the Huskers' lineup with a 163.

Kevin Foley of Penn State shot a six-under-par 138 to capture the individual title. Mississippi's Jesse Speirs finished second, one shot back of Foley. Kyle Ellis and Logan Young, also of Mississippi, tied for third.

The Huskers travel to Louisiana next Monday and Tuesday for the Louisiana Tech/Squire Creek Classic.
