Huskers Finish 15th at Louisiana Tech/Squire Creek Classic

Choudrant, La. - The Nebraska men's golf team finished 15th out of 18 teams at the Louisiana Tech/Squire Creek Classic on Tuesday. The Huskers finished with a team score of 900. The Huskers shot 299 and 303 in the second and third rounds, respectively, on Tuesday.

Mark Pillen led Nebraska with a score of 221, which put him in a tie for 35th place. Mike Coatman tied for 45th with a score of 223. Andrew Wyatt tied for 66th at 227. Brett Sundberg, competing for the second time this year, shot 231 to finish tied for 72nd. Chris Bruening rounded out the Huskers' lineup in 85th place with a 234.

Mississippi was the tournament champion, shooting 860. Louisiana Tech's Matthew Harvey won the individual title, shooting an eight-under-par 64 in the final round to finish at 209, one stroke ahead of Harrison Moore of College of Charleston.

The Huskers have one remaining fall tournament, the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, on Oct. 29-30 in Las Cruces, N.M.
