Nebraska senior Imke Reimerrs of the women’s tennis team will travel to Los Angeles, Calif., on Oct. 3 to take place in the Riviera All-American Tournament. Reimers, who is ranked No. 33 in the ITA Preseason poll, is one of 64 players competing in the Qualifying round. Eight players from the qualifying round will advance to the Main Draw, where they will join 24 of the top players in the country to form a final grouping of 32. The Main Draw will take place from Oct. 4-7. The tournament is considered the premier hard-court event of the fall season.
The Huskers are coming off a successful run in their first fall tournament, the Drake Invitational, which took place in early September. Freshman Stephanie Evans, competing in her first ever Division I competition, advanced to the finals of the "A" Flight Singles bracket, winning three matches en route. She was forced to withdraw due to injury after losing the first set, however, and finished as runner-up to Missouri’s Mallory Weber.
