Lincoln --- Nebraska men’s basketball coach Doc Sadler is inviting fans to come watch the Huskers’ workout on Saturday, Sept. 15, before the highly anticipated Nebraska-USC football game. Sadler, who is entering his second year on the Husker sideline, returns eight letterwinners from last season’s 17-14 squad, including senior center Aleks Maric, the top returning scorer and rebounder in the conference in 2007-08.
“I just wanted to invite everyone to come down and watch their team work out for a little bit,” Sadler said. “It’s really the first chance for fans to see this group together. We know they’ll enjoy watching them work out and maybe have a chance to visit for a little bit afterward. I always want our fans to feel welcome in the DevaneyCenter and this is just another thing we can do to give them a look at their program.”
The basketball team will work out in the BobDevaneySportsCenter starting at 3 p.m. and, like most regular-season practices in the facility, the workout will be open to the public. The team will be split up and work in small groups for a short time period as allowed by NCAA rules and will then use the DevaneyCenter court for free play.
Fans can access the DevaneyCenter on the south side lower level entrance by the men’s basketball office starting at 3 p.m. Husker fans viewing the practice should plan to take the stairs or elevator up to the concourse level and sit in the lower chairbacks during the session, which will conclude by 4:30 p.m.
