Husker Wrestling Graduates Harwood in Summer Commencement

Lincoln ? Marc Harwood was one of 11 Nebraska student-athletes to earn their degrees during summer commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Aug. 18, at the BobDevaneySportsCenter.

Harwood, a steadfast for the Huskers’ wrestling program for the past four years, received his degree in art. A Lakefield, Minn., native, Harwood finished his career at 46-35, including a 27-23 record in duals at 165 pounds. He racked up eight pins and eight medical decisions in his time as a Husker.

Harwood’s career highlights include qualifying for the NCAA Championships in his junior year, where he finished 1-2. He went 13-13 in his senior year in 2006-07, notching a 9-9 mark in duals. He also finished fourth at the Big 12 Championships and was named an alternate for a wild-card bid to nationals.

Nebraska continues to feature one of the highest graduation rates in the nation among its 23 varsity sports, with an exhausted eligibility graduation rate of 94 percent.
