Lincoln - The Nebraska women's tennis team placed eight players, including two former and six current players, on the Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Academic Honor Roll, released on May 11, awarded to those who achieve at least a 3.0 grade-point average during the 2007 spring semester.
Ewelina Skaza, who just graduated in May, and Pamela Castillejos were two former players honored. Skaza was named to her fifth honor roll and Castillejos was named to her fourth.
Among the six current players who received the honor were freshmen Diana Kuhl and Wiveca Swarting, sophomores Marianne Cicmanec and Ashley Finnegan, and juniors Imke Reimers and Maria Popova. Kuhl and Reimers were two of 46 UNL student-athletes to receive a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester. Cicmanec was named to her first honor roll of her career, while Kuhl, Swarting, Finnegan and Popova were named to their second. Reimers was named to the honor roll for the sixth time in her six semesters at UNL.
A total of 255 Nebraska student-athletes were named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll, including 46 who earned a 4.0 GPA.
