Huskers Place 21 on Spring Honor Roll

The Big 12 Conference announced this week that 21 members of the <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska soccer team were named to its Big 12 Commissioner’s Spring Honor Roll, a distinction awarded to those student-athletes who maintain a grade-point average of 3.0 or better during the previous semester.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

 

This is the second consecutive semester that the Husker soccer program has enjoyed at least 20 players on the honor roll, after placing 24 individuals to the list in November.

 

Overall, three seniors, two juniors, five sophomores and nine NU freshmen received the distinction, while former soccer player and current team manager Brigid Kenny earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.

 

Seventeen soccer student-athletes earned repeat selections, led by who was honored for the ninth and final time in her career, as the Sioux Falls, S.D., native earned her degree in advertising in May. Meghan Hungerford, Sari Raber and Kenny were honored for the sixth times in their respective careers, while sophomore Selenia Iacchelli has now made the list in all five of her semesters at Nebraska.

 

Rounding out the spring selections was senior Brittany Timko, whose storied career had yet to feature an academic honor, prior to her earning her first Big 12 Honor Roll accolade.
