Molly Hill picked up her third honor of the week, as the sophomore right-hander for the Nebraska softball team was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VII first team.
The announcement of the academic all-district teams were made by the College of Sports Information Directors on Thursday. Hill, who is 17-8 this season with a 1.05 ERA that leads the Big 12 Conference and ranks eighth nationally, was also named a second-team all-conference selection and a first-team academic All-Big 12 performer on Thursday.
Hill was one of 11 student-athletes named to the first team, although she was one of only three non-seniors on the list. A native of Wayne, Neb., Hill was one of just two underclassmen to earn the honor and with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in speech language pathology, she was also one of only three student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA on the all-district VII first team.
Hill now moves on to the national ballot, where she will be considered for academic All-America honors. Nebraska softball has produced a nation-leading 24 academic All-Americans, including two selections in 2006.
