Reimers Named to Academic All-Big 12 Team

Irving, Texas - Nebraska junior Imke Reimers was named to the academic All-Big 12 Team on Tuesday, April 24, the conference office announced. She is one of 32 Big 12 women's tennis players to earn first-team honors while posting a cumulative grade-point average above 3.2. Reimers is majoring in mathematics.

The Papenburg, Germany, native earned her second straight nomination to the academic All-Big 12 first team, and has also earned a place on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in all five of her semesters at Nebraska.

Reimers has enjoyed much success on the court as well this season, compiling a record of 16-4 in singles play and 13-6 in doubles action. She is ranked No. 47 in the latest ITA singles rankings.

Nebraska (12-6, 4-7) will finish its doubles matches against Texas Tech in Kansas City, Mo., site of the Big 12 Championships, later Wednesday. The Huskers will begin Championships play on Thursday, April 26. Seedings will be finalized after the conclusion of the NU/TTU match, but the Huskers are set to play either 11-seed Kansas or 9-seed Missouri in the first round.
