Huskers Wrap-Up Spring Schedule against Buffs

Lincoln ? The Nebraska soccer team will wrap-up its spring season this Saturday, April 21 with a 3 p.m. contest against Colorado in North Platte, Neb. Nebraska and Colorado were originally slated to kick off at 6 p.m., but moved that time to 3 p.m. last week.

 

This is the second consecutive season that the Huskers and the Buffaloes will square off at the North Platte High School Stadium, cutting the trip in half for both teams. Fans are encouraged to attend the game and can purchase tickets for $5 in advance at North PlatteHigh School or on Huskers.com.

 

The Huskers (2-1-1) are looking for their third win of the spring this Saturday after dropping a hard-fought battle, 2-1, to Kansas in Lincoln last weekend. Sophomore Lindsay Poehling continued her scoring surge in the loss, netting her second goal, despite playing as a defender. Other Huskers getting on the board this spring include freshman Shay Powell, who has a pair of goals, as well as senior Tanya Dennis, sophomore Aysha Jamani and freshman Savannah Allen.

 

This is the final spring training session for the Huskers, who will then prepare for the 2007 season, which kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 25, in Louisville, Ky., at the fourth annual Jenna Cooper Memorial Exhibition Match at 7 p.m.
