Lincoln ? Due to the weather forecast for inclement weather, this weekend’s baseball conference series between Nebraska and Oklahoma State has been moved from a Thursday-Saturday series to a Friday-Sunday series. The scheduling changes were made after consultation between the Nebraska and Oklahoma State coaching staffs and were approved by the Big 12 Conference Tuesday afternoon.
The change was necessitated because of the weather forecasts that show the strong probability of inclement weather and cold temperatures on Thursday. The change was announced prior to Oklahoma State’s departure from Stillwater because Big 12 rules stipulate that the series dates can not change once a team has left the campus for a weekend series.
The series will now begin on Friday afternoon with a 2:05 p.m. first pitch with afternoon games also set for Saturday (1:05 p.m.) and Sunday (1:05 p.m.). Saturday’s game, which remained unchanged from the original weekend schedule, will be shown live across the state on Nebraska Educational Television (NET and NET-HD).
“In looking at the forecasts for this weekend, it looked very unlikely that Thursday was going to be an option,” Nebraska Head Coach Mike Anderson said. “It is important that we work to get all three games in this weekend, while also balancing the concerns of the participating players and our fans.”
For season-ticket and single-game ticket holders, Friday and Saturday’s tickets will stay the same, while Thursday’s original game ticket (Game 10 in the season-ticket package) will be now used for Sunday’s contest. Reserved seat tickets from Thursday’s originally scheduled game are required for admission to Sunday’s match-up.
Understanding many fans may already have Easter commitments on Sunday, Thursday’s tickets can be used for general admission berm seating for any other regular-season game this in 2007, depending on ticket availability. Each Big 12 series this weekend was originally scheduled for Thursday-Saturday because of the Easter holiday.
Fans can catch all three games against the Cowboys live across the state on the Husker Sports Radio Network, including KLIN 1400 AM in Lincoln, KFAB 1110 AM in Omaha and KRVN 880 AM in Lexington, and on the Internet for free at Huskers.com.
As noted on the back of tickets, dates and times are subject to change. Fans are encouraged to consult Huskers.com for complete up-to-date information before leaving for the ballpark.
