Stansbury Places Fourth on Platform

Austin, Texas? Senior Danielle Stansbury saved one of her best meets for last as she finished her career with an impressive fourth-place finish on the platform dive at the 2007 NCAA Zone D Diving Meet Sunday in Austin, Texas.

 

Stansbury earned a final score of 409.60 to finish behind two NCAA Championship qualifiers in Kendra Melnychuk (Missouri) and Kara Jayne Salamone (Texas), while Rachel Gitelson (Houston) was third.

 

The fourth-place finish matched Amie Buoy’s one- and three-meter placings from the 2005 NCAA Zone D Diving Meet when the Canadian became the first Husker diver to qualify for the NCAA Championships since 1990.

 

The Lincoln, Neb., native finished third among eight competitors from the Big 12 Conference.
